A community land trust for Apex
Peak City Land Trust is a new nonprofit created by the Town of Apex to build and steward permanently affordable homes — so the people who make the Peak City work can afford to live here, today and for generations to come.
Learn how it works Get involvedWhat is a community land trust?
A community land trust (CLT) is a nonprofit that owns land on behalf of the community and makes the homes on it affordable — permanently. It's a proven model used in hundreds of communities across the country.
Peak City Land Trust acquires land — including land contributed by the Town of Apex — and holds it in trust for the community, forever.
Homes on trust land are sold at prices working families can afford, with a long-term ground lease. Homeowners build equity, stability, and roots.
When a homeowner sells, resale terms keep the home affordable for the next family — so one investment in affordability helps generations of neighbors.
Who we are
Peak City Land Trust was incorporated in March 2026 at the direction of the Apex Town Council, as part of the Town's commitment to affordable housing. Our founding board brings together leaders from homebuilding, finance, housing policy, and local government — including representatives of the Town of Apex and Wake County.
